Last verified 28 August 2026 Lookup table 2000–2090 BS
Convert Bikram Sambat (BS) to Gregorian (AD) and back. Month lengths in Nepal are 29–32 days and change every year, so this page uses a table, not a 56-year shortcut.
Why a table, not arithmetic
Baisakh 1, 2000 BS is 14 April 1943. From that epoch the converter counts days using each year’s published month lengths. The same month can be 31 days one year and 32 the next.
Checked against Hamro Patro for Baisakh 1, 2083 (14 April 2026) and Bhadra 12, 2083 (28 August 2026). Range: 2000 BS–2090 BS (14 April 1943–13 April 2034).
Date of birth
Passport and visa forms usually want the Gregorian date. Enter the BS date from the citizenship paper, convert, then use Age today if you need years as of Nepal time.
This page does not

FAQ
What is BS to AD?
Bikram Sambat is Nepal’s official calendar. AD is the Gregorian calendar. This tool maps a day in one to the same civil day in the other.
Can I convert a 2078 birth date?
Yes, if it falls in 2000–2090 BS. Pick year 2078, the month, and the day, then convert to English.
Is today included?
The fields default to today’s date in Asia/Kathmandu. Open the 2083 calendar for the month grid.
